community_town_hall_scheduledTown hall scheduled for Tuesday May 12, 2026 at 5:00 PM at Conway City Hall (1111 Main Street), organized by the Faulkner County League of Women Voters. Speakers include Brad Lacy, president of the Conway Development Corporation. Community concerns raised in prior meetings: water sustainability, electricity, economic impact reality-check, transparency about which company is actually behind the project.SOURCE ↗

rezoning_annexation_approvedConway City Council approved rezoning, annexation, and consolidation of 336 acres near Lollie Road in southwest Conway for a then-unnamed company intending to host a data center campus. Footprint: 300,000 square feet on more than 300 acres. Project value: 1 billion dollars. Developer not formally announced; the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette identified the operator as Google. Brooke at Anthropocene Alliance flagged in May 2026 that the applications and submitter are identical to the Google Port of Little Rock filing -- meaning the same shell pattern is being used across the state.SOURCE ↗
