An independent project tracking America's data center boom.
PoweredByWho tracks the rapid expansion of data centers across the United States. We collect and organize publicly available information about proposed and active facilities, the energy infrastructure behind them, public opinion research, and the political money flowing around these projects. Our goal is to make this information accessible to the communities, journalists, and researchers who need it most.
Everything on this site comes from allowlisted public sources — news reporting, government filings, FEC records, and industry databases. We use a combination of automated collection and human review to keep the data accurate. This is not an exhaustive database — it is a growing one, expanding every week thanks to tips and contributions from users like you. Figures should be treated as best-available estimates rather than definitive totals. For details on specific data fields, see the Data Dictionary.
Structured data is available via the Data Dictionary. We encourage journalists, researchers, and community advocates to use this data in their work.
